Mikel Arteta shortlists his ideal Thomas Partey replacement

It looks like Thomas Partey will be sold this summer. The Ghana international who was a pivotal member of the squad last season has fallen out of favour in the Arsenal lineup this season and in fairness, his poor injury record hasn’t helped him.

Needless to say, Partey is an exceptional player when he is fit but unfortunately, having him fully fit is a rarity these days.

Therefore, according to Football Insider, Arsenal are prepared to accept £25m for Thomas Partey to be sold.

I must say, this valuation is very disappointing. Arsenal have a poor record of losing money on signings, even those who improved whilst in North London. For context, Partey was originally signed £45m so this is yet another example of Arsenal losing money on their players.

It is evident that Partey is a remarkable player when in good health, however, maintaining his fitness has been a challenge lately.

As per reports from Football Insider, Arsenal is willing to sell Thomas Partey for £25m.

This valuation is quite disheartening considering Arsenal’s history of financial losses on player transfers, even for those who have shown improvement during their time at the club. To provide some perspective, Partey was initially signed for £45m, highlighting Arsenal’s struggle to recoup their investments.
